| Megan and Chris |
This Sunday was a nice laid back kind of day. I shot a family of 9 in the afternoon and the weather held up nicely which allowed me to take an engagement shoot in the evening. Megan and Chris are getting married in October and I was lucky enough to get to be a part of the wedding. This couple is so sweet and fun! I enjoyed this shoot so much. We laughed and had a great time. Their amazing personalities and love for each other comes through wonderfully in their portraits. Here is one of my favorites. You can view a few of my other picks from their shoot in the engagement album in the gallery.

This next Saturday (Aug 9th) I don't have a wedding. My sweet, charming, handsome, loving, perfect hubby thought it would be a great opportunity for us to learn a little something new. He booked a special class for us on August 8th in Denver! We get to go take part in a class on the newest trends and timeless images. We'll learn how to edit in 3 different techniques and focus on bringing our photography up to a new level...beyond anything we've done before. No matter how good we are there's always a way to be better. I remember when I first started out and I was working at another studio, I felt like every shoot I was doing was the same ol' same ol' and I couldn't get (what I thought) was a good picture. The owners of the studio sat me down and told me that it was super important not to get discouraged. All of the pictures I was taking were great but in my head I didn't see it. They said that's what happens to artists when are about to break out into a new level. I think that's what happened this year. I was just reading a guest book entry from a wedding I shot a few weeks ago and I was so moved. She felt like I've done a good job keeping up with style changes. That makes me so happy and so very determined to keep on striving for greatness! Stay tuned because there are some really neat things to be offered and I totally plan on doing it!

| What we've been up to |
|
Wow! It has been a crazy few months. We have been shooting weddings every weekend non-stop and filling up our weekday shoot spots very quickly. It has been a blast! I am so far behind on updating the website. When a client says they would like to be on the website I try to pull a few of my faves aside and resize them for the site....but during this crazy time it seems the hard drive is backed up with exciting new pictures that haven't been uploaded yet. I will get to it just as soon as I can. In the mean time...are you ready for this? The studio has re-opened! I'm working by appointment only for now so if you need to make an appointment for indoor or outdoor pictures give me a call. We are located on Main Street in downtown Farmington and can't wait to capture all your cherished memories there. I am new to this photography blogging thing so bare with me, but I will try to update as often as I can. I'll leave you with my favorite picture of the week. A fun and unique idea that I hope will stay in the Studio 11 family because I worked very hard to find something that could be exclusive to my clients.
